UL (Underwriters Laboratories) is an American worldwide safety consulting and certification company headquartered in NorthbrookIllinois. It maintains offices in 46 countries. UL was established in 1894 and has participated in the safety analysis of many of the last century’s new technologies, most notably the public adoption of electricity and the drafting of safety standards for electrical devices and components. UL provides safety-related certification, validation, testing, inspection, auditing, advising and training services to a wide range of clients, including manufacturers, retailers, policymakers, regulators, service companies, and consumers.

NSF International-The Public Health and Safety Organization

NSF International is an accredited, independent third-party certification body that tests and certifies products to verify they meet these public health and safety standards. Products that meet these standards bear the NSF mark.

The cooking/food storing equipment, pans & lids, faucets, electrical wire, switches, boxes, water pumps, etc. on the Food Vending Carts, Concession Carts and Specialty Carts built by TDC have the UL and/or NSF certifications and are deemed food safe, meet water quality and electrical quality for outdoor or indoor environments. Cooking / Holding / Cooling equipment installed in Concession Carts by TDC contain the UL and/or NSF marks. Spec sheets for the equipment are provided for reference and proper usage, cleaning an storage.

TDC’s understanding of  UL (Underwriters Laboratories) and NSF International -The Public Health and Safety Organization are both independent, accredited organizations that develop standards and certification of products to ensure public health and safety.  Neither company is a governmental regulatory agency. Participation with NSF and UL recommendations is done voluntarily by organizations and venues.

Top Dog Carts are built to meet or exceed ANSI Standard 51 for food equipment materials and Standard 59 for mobile food
